A few weeks ago, it was not on my agenda to drive with my husband to see a beautiful work of art that some people were telling us gave them a spiritual experience. I remember thinking; “It will only take a few minutes. I’ll see it and then we’ll be on our way.” But it wasn’t meant to be that way for me and I will never be the same again.

When I walked into the main foyer of Spilsbury Mortuary, what I saw brought my hand to my mouth and tears to my eyes. I remember thinking, “I can’t believe what I’m seeing,” and yet there it was…everything I had hoped was true about going home when I leave this life, became so real in that instant. I felt the love in the Savior’s face, it seemed to go deep down inside of me; even now as I’m writing this, I can’t stop praying that Our Father will help me with the words I must write. I remember standing there studying this beautiful masterpiece.

For me, what I saw was an old woman hesitating in her final steps that would take her through that door of uncertainty, perhaps looking back wishing to retrace her steps, but knowing she has no control, she has to go on, and so she does. I have known for quite some time that our spirits will ever remain young, but when I actually saw that beautiful young girl as she was emerging, a fresh flow of tears came again. Seeing the Savior ready to receive her, with such love in His face, was the crowning touch. For me, it was like the touch of the Master’s hand.

I started praying in my mind, thanking my Savior for His wonderful plan; the love and devotion He has for each of His children, and most especially for the knowledge that I am a daughter of God.

The feelings I experienced will never leave me. When emotional or physical pains come, I will think about ‘Come Unto Me’ and I know I will endure until I see Him face to face.

Thank you to those responsible for this masterpiece. You were inspired to do what you did, and I, for one, will be grateful to you for what it did for me.

I am enthralled by the crystal of Come Unto Me! At night I turn the lights off and allow the peace and comfort from the reflection of Our Savior on my walls and ceiling to wash over me. Having recently lost my dear father to cancer, I can’t thank you enough for making this available. I will be ordering one for each of my siblings so that they and their families can experience the same comfort.
